How sexy am I?

Couldn't resist posting this:

Architects are sexiest

What’s wrong with being sexy?

Architects have been voted the sexiest male professionals in a survey of women’s ideal partners.

The survey, conducted by the introduction agency Drawing Down the Moon, found that women favoured architects “due to the esteem associated with the profession”.

Architects are seen as being “balanced and rounded individuals who combine a creative approach with a caring, thoughtful disposition”, the survey found. It concluded: “Their ability to cope with pressure of work in a relaxed manner was also deemed to be a significant plus.”

Male architects beat stockbrokers, doctors, film directors and teachers on the top spot.

However female members of the profession fared less well and did not feature in the top 10 out of male preferences.

RIBA president David Rock commented that architects were probably unaware of their animal magnetism: “Architects were probably the only group on the list whose self-image is lower than their public image”, he said, but added: “Mind you, you have to question the veracity of any list that includes drama teachers”.

RIBA Architecture Gallery director Alicia Pivaro, who is married to architect Paul Monaghan, said she thought male architects were highly attractive: “Being married to the architecture’s Mr Sexy, I would have to agree.”

But she was surprised at the failure of women architects to appear on the list. “All the ones I know are very sexy”, she said.

Men instead voted PR executives the sexiest profession for females, followed by actresses and journalists.

This article has breathed life into my studies, it is given me a new meaning to life. Finally, finally, here is the reward of 6 years of pain and hardship. The light at the end of tunnel. The reward. The prize. The recognition... okay. That's crap. I would like to think that the article is true to a large extent. I don't know how sexy male architects really are, since most of my female friends aren't of that age to make proper judgment. But I hey, I don't mind. Not at all. :)

No offence to my architecture buddies, but seriously female architects don't do it for me. I look at Zaha Hadid and go SHHHeeeesH... nah, I hope I don't hook up an architect. I've no idea why PR executives are the most popular. Maybe its the power suit and the alluring voice on the phone. I do have an inclination towards power-suited females. Japanese ones in particular. Definitely not actresses and journalists though. Tried a journalist before and totally disliked her.

I don't like loud, energetic girls who frolic around and scream and giggle. I like classy women. Not necessarily high-maintenance per se, but elegant and dignified. Another big turn off for me would be those who adore Japanese/Korean pop culture. For some reason, I'm just repelled by such girls.

Actually, I would prefer a doctor right now. No particular reason, except that medical students always seem to be more attractive. Smart, witty and intelligent. Oh and pretty too. Much better than the overrated arts and commerce departments.

One male coursemate once told me:"Med fac(medical faculty) is the worst place to be in..come to think that u have to face the 'girls' for 6 long years..how sad can it get?"
Haha..just a thought..people find med girls the ugliest n the nerdiest..n art/commerce students the prettiest..go figure!:)

sam: male PR fellas get the chicks. You're gonna get me some when i go back. :)

sin wei: maiden post!!! congrats!

tell your male coursemate you've got to face the 'boys' for 6 long years. That's pretty crap! Male doctors reek! But wait.. architecture is 6 years too.. :(

Taste is subjective like they all say. Beauty is skin deep. What makes you say med girls are the ugliest and nerdiest anyway? That's totally wrong man.. med chicks are the best. They're the hottest stuff, the real deal! The way to a man's heart is through the brain. The med chick has it all. Brains, beauty, humour.. nah no commerce and definitely no art bimbos. :p

kai: it's not about finding yourself sexy. it's about others finding you sexy. Even within the architecture field, there are 2 types of personalities. The conscientious one and the flamboyant one. It's my belief that the flamboyant ones are the sexier ones.. the arty farty ones you know.

I think whichever girl, archi or not, you still have to cook for her sometimes. Have you considered cooking in love?? haha :p Times have changed, gone are the days where women stay at home and take care of kids and cook. If I ever get a doctor, I would hate it if she gave everything up to stay at home. Unless she really really wants to, than I'm fine. :)
