1. Parents are dumb and stuck in the 15th century. One reason why I can’t wait to go back to Melbourne. I know I’m wrong to say this, but for goodness sake, be realistic and stop being stubborn. In my younger days I read of aging parents becoming unreasonable and resolute and I thanked God I don’t have parents like that. You know what, it seems that old people in general just become bonkers after a while. Or I get more impatient. Whatever…

2. Miko has gone back to Japan, for a while. I don’t know how long, she doesn’t know either. Her dad is down with an illness and apparently treatment in Japan is more advanced than here (obviously). I’ve avoided telling anyone because I don’t want to hear “you guys will be alright”, “don’t worry, it’s only a short time” or “if you really love her, you will hang on for her”. Just cut the crap, don’t even think about consoling me whatsoever. I DON’T NEED IT. Miko, I love you all the same. Forget about what people say, it’s mostly bullshit. Fill your mind with more edifying things.

3. Yesterday I met up with DHD and Tin (she’s still as alluring as ever). Needless to say, a time of fellowship is always good. It smacks me in the face to realise there are beautiful people left in the world. Delifrance will always bring back brilliant memories as far as Tin, I, DHD and Jem are concerned. As I age further, I realise these are the people who will probably be my friends for life. These are people who I will turn to when I am in need. These are the people who will share my joy. These are the people who will attend my wedding. And I’m all the more comforted. Yes, I am.

Thoughts aside, the carefree, almost frivolous nature of being out on a Saturday makes me free young again. I’m sprightly, frolicking in the tropical sunlight, unaware of the toils of the world. Money is to be spent as and when you feel like it, without consequence. Such is how good mates make you feel. Not exactly spendthrift, but liberated, almost innocent. I like that. It’s been a while.

You guys are my heart cos there’s nothing but love.
