What’s with this world?
Bush claims that Hurricane Katrina is America’s tsunami. During the Bali bombing, John Howard quickly alleged that was Australia’s 9/11 parallel.
What has happened to old adage of world peace? Or am I just too old school? The more castrophic the disaster, the better for the country? Everyone is striving to have a greater calamity. The country that loses the most lives and property is the winner.
This is typical selfish human behaviour. You know, if Bush had lost one of his kids in Hurricane Katrina, I doubt he would be so gung ho as to make statements like that. He doesn’t understand that it’s not about him and it’s not even about America. It’s about the Americans. It’s about the people. He can’t do very much about I know, but don’t compare it to the tsunami. 126,000 lost their lives in the tsunami. The death toll for Hurricane Katrina is 126. The tsunami was the worst in 40 years. It hit the poorest areas. New Orleans is NOT a poor area. Bush obviously means that it will take a lot of money to revamp the place. Why don’t funds pour in like in the case of the tsunami? Will likening Hurricane Katrina to the tsunami evoke emotions? No, simply because America does not need help. It is perfectly capable of solving its own problems.
So Bush, just shut up and stop whining.
