Today, I left home without my phone. I realized at the bus stop. It was disastrous I tell you. I went berserk.
Its sad really. How humans have become so dependant on technology. Why, even my 9 year old neighbour is asking for a phone. I mean like, who the hell is gonna call you when you’re only 9? Or so I thought… as it turns out, my niece who is 5 yaks on the phone with her fellow 5 year olds when her mum is out. Strange huh? When I was 5, I didn’t know anything or anyone. Did you?? Haha… the world is getting stranger and stranger.
I met the girl I had a crush on last week today. Surprise surprise, I felt absolutely nothing. No looking at her, or getting distracted by her of any sort. Again, something’s wrong with me. I don’t know why I’m jumping in and out of crushes and relationships all the time. But I’m beyond caring. They’re so many more important things in my life right now. Studies, family, friends… According to Jemery, he treats people who are the most important to him the worst. Hmmm… I really don’t think I treat anyone badly but if you feel victimized let me know ya? :p
I suppose, its because the people who are the important to us are always there for us. Such as parents. We treat them like shit because they NAG, and NAG and NAGGG!! Its true, mum sorry. But when you sit down and think about it, you really feel bad for shrugging them off and all that. You know, considering how much they’ve sacrificed for us, we shouldn’t take them for granted. It took me 18 years to discover that. And I only knew because this once, when I returned from studio at 4am in the heart of winter, my apartment was cold and empty and there was no one there to say hi and make me a bowl of steamin instant noodles. That’s when I sat down and cried like a baby and said “mum, I miss you.” I called her the following day and told her I loved her, and we both cried. Mums are weird things. But that’s my story of maturity. And of course, everyone knows how hard it is for a man to tell his mum I love you once he passes the age of 15. But I’ve got a teacher who’s 50 years old and he kisses his mum goodbye every morning. Respect…
Another thing I realized is how as you grow older your dress sense just spirals down the drain uncontrollably. I saw mum’s pictures of how she used to wear mini-skirts and duffel jackets. And well…I must admit, she was pretty good looking. Dad’s got quite good taste. But NOW, she wears boring old grey stuff and silly suits that don’t quite fit. Dad doesn’t say anything. He just keeps quiet. Maybe he’s turned on by musty suits. I don’t know.
I told Felicity on Saturday night that she’s got good dress sense. And I really mean it. She dresses well wherever she goes. Even if it was a t-shirt and a skirt or jeans, it was nicely accessorized (not excessively though). I like girls who bother about how they look. No matter if they’re hot or not. Singaporean girls (in general) dress badly. BUT BUT before you all start screaming at me, there a nice, pretty few who do bother to dress decently. And you ladies make babe watching all the more fun for us, thank you.
DHD and I have different tastes. Wildly different tastes. I like girls who’re older than me (oops, did I just say that :p) I like girls who dress nice, classy with well-ornamented hair and heels. Power suits are just FANTASTIC if she has the air and the body to pull it off. But DHD likes the plain jane sort with t-shirts (grubby, shapeless sort) and shorts. I DO also like the plain janes (those w/o makeup) because they have a natural beauty about them. But if you don’t look so good, and yet dress sloppily, I think it reveals a lot about your personality it probably sucks.
Being in the architecture line, I used to tell people that I can tell an architect from the way he dresses, talks and carries himself. So far, I’m about 80% accurate which is not so bad. Haha…as for myself, I look shit, so I’ve given up trying to look good. Like dear wJ and his $500 oakley’s. Even if they cost $500,000 he’d STILL look bad. Haha…I’m just mean.
Dress up people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i think it goes the other way too- as in girls like guys who bother about their appearance!
The whole metrosexual thing may be taking it too far, but there's really no harm in trying to look presentable and decent and clean!
yeah actually gill, you one of those who actually bothers how you look, i must say. So i'm definitely not meaning you. =) metrosexual may be a bit too far i agree... haha its almost well, not me to be metrosexual. i'm too ugly anyway... haha!
WHOEVER SAID JANE WAS PLAIN?
Hi Jon, Thanks for the comment u left on my blog. I do agree that fashion is impt to some extent but not always. There's so much more to outward appearance. Outward beauty is not everything.
feebz: that's true. outward appearance isn't everything. but you tend to realise that's how humans judge each other. its a sad case but a fact of life. so even though your inside may be beautiful it needs to be explored by someone else (who can't see the inside, only the outside).
jem: OOOOOOPPSSSS!!!! I forgot!!! haha nice one bro!
